12. FAQ: Availability / Limitations

12.1. What is the difference between availability and maximum export?

The maximum export value sets an upper limit for the production data values. The availability data, on the other hand, is used to scale the producton data relatively to a full capacity.

Example 1: If the availability setting is reduced to half the units capacity, then all production data values are decreased by 50% (changes has to be made in the availability interface Replace default availability value)

Example 2: If the maximum export value is set, then all production data is limited to that value.

Note

Availability data and maximum export settings are ignored by default in the forecast interface. To activate them, check Restricted forecast as Data mode in the forecast interface.

(changes hat to be made in the forecast sites interface configure location at total unit capacity)

12.2. What does Availability mean?

The availability is necessary to adjust the curtailments because of O&M or defect reason to the forecast. If this is done properly the forecust result will be much better.

Note, that there are deadlines for changes to the configuration affecting forecasts.

How long does it take until changes to the configuration affect forecasts ?

12.3. Can I also set a range of availability values without typing into every cell?

Yes. As soon as you make a change to one cell, all future values in the currently selected time frame are changed as well. Type in the old value again where the change should stop.

Values after the current time frame always stay unaffected.

12.4. Can I also make availability/maximum export changes more than 7 days ahead?

The availability editor spans over a time of seven days. Yet you can select a future date when this seven day span should begin, and that way change availability values later than seven days ahead.

12.5. What happens with future entries, when I made changes that cover over a specific range of values ?

The effect of changes is limited to the time frame. A new value does not affect the values after the end of the editor time span.

The only changes that have to be watched out for, and possibly reinserted, are the ones in the current editor window.

12.6. Can I overwrite previously made entries that come up in my 7-day time range?

Yes. This is why a warning box 1 shows all the changes that have been made previously.

The warning box offers a convenient button to re-insert changes 2, if you do not wish to overwrite them.

12.7. Can I download the data with the changes I have made ?

Yes. A download button and a Non-Interactive Download Link are available.

To access them, click on the Download table 1 tab. There you will see a download 2 button, and also your Non-Interactive Download Link 3.

12.8. Can I get an overview over all my changes to the default?

No, but you can get an overview over the changes that are located in the current editor window. Above the data entry table you will see a warning box 1 containing all changes that have been made previously. This box can also be used to reinsert 2 values, in case that they got overwritten by accident.
